Hennepin County is reminding residents that the first half of this year's property taxes are due May 15th

The county has set up a website where homeowners can learn how to pay online and how to get their tax information.

Mpls. Schools Host Additional Public Meeting on Tax Levy 

The Minneapolis School Board will hold a public meeting Tuesday evening on its proposal for a one-percent tax increase.

According to the district, the increase would mean a $150,000 home would see just about a $6 increase to its property taxes.

The levy increase would bring an additional $1.9 million to the district.

Minneapolis Targets Slum Landlords

The City of Minneapoils has launched a new website aimed at "outing" landlords who break the city's licensing laws.

The site posts the names of owners with revoked licenses or condemned properties.

The city says it has strengthened its licensing laws over the past six years, and revocations are up 500%.
