Newly rehabbed homes are the focus of a tour today by a top HUD official in north Minneapolis.
HUD Assistant Secretary Mercedes Marquez is looking at the effects of the fed's Neighborhood Stabilization Program on housing in the area and jobs.
Minnesota has received nearly $108 million for neighborhood revitalization efforts in different cities.
Minneapolis officials say they'll also demonstrate how the proposed American Jobs Act and Project Rebuild can "continue to revitalize neighborhoods, create jobs, and grow local economies throughout Minneapolis."
The program would include efforts to revitalize commercial properties and would work to develop partnerships with community organizations.
